Sisal factory

Sisal factory

Sisal (Agave sisalana) is an agave that yields a stiff fibre traditionally used in making twine, ropeand also dartboards. The term may refer either to the plant or the fibre, depending on context. It is sometimes incorrectly referred to as sisal hemp because hemp was for centuries a major source for fibre, so other fibres were sometimes named after it.

Sisal plants consist of a rosette of sword-shaped leaves about 1.5 to 2 metres tall. Young leaves may have a few minute teeth along their margins, but lose them as they mature. Sisals are sterile hybrids of uncertain origin; although shipped from the port of Sisal in Yucatan (thus the name), they do not actually grow in Yucatan, the plantations there cultivate henequen (Agave fourcroydes) instead. Evidence of an indigenous cottage industry in Chiapas suggests it as the original location, possibly as a cross of Agave angustifolia and Agave kewensis.

Extracting the fibre
Fibre is extracted by a process known as decortication, where leaves are crushed and beaten by a rotating wheel set with blunt knives, so that only fibres remain. In East Africa, where production is typically on large estates, the leaves are transported to a central decortication plant, where water is used to wash away the waste parts of the leaf. The fibre is then dried, brushed and baled for export. Superior quality sisal is found in East Africa, once washed and decorticated. Proper drying is important as fibre quality depends largely on moisture content. Artificial drying has been found to result in generally better grades of fibre than sun drying, but is not feasible in the developing countries where sisal is produced.

Uses of sisal
A sisal plantation in Morogoro,Tanzania. The Uluguru Mountains can be seen in the background
Traditionally, sisal has been the leading material for agricultural twine (binder twine and baler twine) because of its strength, durability, ability to stretch, affinity for certain dyestuffs, and resistance to deterioration in saltwater,[7] but the importance of this traditional use is diminishing with competition from polypropylene and the development of other haymaking techniques, while new higher-valued sisal products have been developed.[2] Apart from ropes, twines, and general cordage, sisal is used in low-cost and specialty paper, dartboards, buffing cloth, filters, geotextiles, mattresses, carpets, handicrafts, wire rope cores, and Macrame.[2] In recent years sisal has been utilized as an environmentally friendly strengthening agent to replace asbestos and fibreglass in composite materials in various uses including the automobile industry

6 Pcs Kit for NIKON D60 D80 D40 D300S D3000 D5000, includes: 52MM 0.45X Wide Angle Lens with Macro + 52MM Lens Cap+ UV Filter + Ultra Fine Microfiber Cleaning Cloth GOJA Logo + MORE!!!

* 1) 0.45X WIDE ANGLE LENS WITH MACRO 52MM - This is a Professional High Definition Super Wide Angle lens 0.45x. This lens is specially designed for the high quality digital cameras and camcorders which will effectively increase your camera's versatility without loss of original picture quality. The 0.45x Wide-Angle Converter attaches to the front of your zoom lens. This wide angle lens can be separated from macro lens for use as a wide angle or use as a macro lens.
* 2) PROTECTIVE LENS CASE - To protect Wide Angle.
* 3) 2 CAPS - Front and back.
* 4) 52MM UV FILTER - Ultraviolet light, which manifests itself in photographs as reduced clarity and the appearance of haze, can be blocked with an ultra violet lens filter. Ultraviolet light is invisible to the eye and is strong in mountainous and coastal areas with very clear air. This makes the colorless UV filter an indispensable tool because it requires no exposure compensation. It is also recommended as an ideal lens protector that can be kept on the lens permanently for protection from bumps or scratches.
* 5) 52MM WHITE BALANCE LENS CAP - Forgetting to set your white balance can be huge bummer, especially if you've just captured a once-in-a-lifetime shot. With the White Balance Lens Cap, you don't have to worry about forgetting to adjust your settings before snapping away. That's because it's already your lens cap, and all you have to do is go to custom white balance mode, and then the cap creates the ideal profile you need. No more yellow photos, and no more fixing the photos after they're shot!.
* 6) MICROFIBER CLEANING CLOTH - As the name suggests, microfiber cleaning cloths are made up of extremely fine fibers, usually of synthetic fibers like nylon or polyester. Microfiber cleaning cloth leaves behind no lint, no dust, or no broken fibers. Once you clean a surface with it, it remains clean.
